Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are your hours?
I schedule appointments for weekday’s only. My availability on which day is open varies depending on how many clients I am currently seeing. I intentionally try not to see too many people at a time because I want to provide you with the best possible care. I strive to begin and end sessions on time to respect our schedules and put appropriate parameters on therapy work. If you're ready to get started, give me a call!
  • Are all therapists the same?
Not at all. Who I am and how I conduct therapy won’t look the same as the next person. I believe that the personality and care therapists provide is as unique as the people we see. Therapists often have different backgrounds when it comes to their training and license, experience level, specialities, therapy treatment approach, and personalities. I can appreciate how overwhelming finding the right therapist can be so I want to make this process as easy as possible for you. That is why I offer a free phone consultation so that we can make sure that I'm the right fit for you.
  • How do I get started?
I try to make this process as simple as possible. I do not have any other receptionist, billing, or other therapists that you work with beyond me. I will be the person you interact with from the moment you schedule a consultation to the moment you walk in the door for your first appointment. Step 1: You contact me by whatever method is most convenient for you- You can call me (816.585.3673), send me an email (anchoringpeacetherapy@gmail.com), or fill out my contact form on the Contact Page of my website. Step 2: We arrange a time to touch base over the phone for a brief (5-10 minute) phone consultation. During this call we can go ahead and schedule your first consultation session and I will email you paperwork to complete. Step 3: You arrive for your scheduled session with completed paperwork and payment.
  • How long does therapy take?
The timeline for therapy is unique to each client. Individuals come to therapy with varying presenting problems, differing levels of motivation and commitment to therapy work, and have individualized comfort levels when it comes to connecting with their therapist. I can do my best to provide the best possible estimate after I have the opportunity to meet you and learn more about your goals for therapy.
